Hello good people of the world,
So now that the Biggest Loser Competition is over, it is on to regular blog posts.
So, I have a few things I wanted to talk about. If you’re a smartie pants, you’ve probably figured out one of those things is Yoga. 🙂
Last Wednesday I was hanging out with my sister and her family, we went on a nature walk that was beautiful, it was warm outside, and the kids were having a ball on the monkey bars, watching the baby deer, and riding their bike. It has been YEARS (at least 12 or so) since I’ve ridden a bike. I got on it and realized that I suck at riding bikes, so naturally I need to get a bike so I can be a boss at riding them again. After our nature walk, my sister mentioned that it was community week (something I had never heard of) where they have really cheap activities within the community for one week so you get to try lots of different things so that you can sign up for something if you like it. She asked if I wanted to check out a Plus Size Yoga class. It was only $5.00, and I was curious, so I said sure. We went to the Blue Heron Wellness Center in Silver Spring, and coincidentally, Community Week started THAT DAY and the Plus Size Yoga class was THAT NIGHT! So we signed up, had dinner, went back to her house and relaxed a bit, then went to hit up the class. Oh my goodness. What a beautiful experience!! To be honest, I have never experienced something that has brought me so much peace and strength before, especially in an hour and 15 minutes. I was hooked, like a sucker. So, I discussed with my husband, and decided I should definitely take the class, no questions asked (can I just add, my husband is seriously the coolest)!!
So then, Friday night, I got home from work and Jose was making me a surprise dinner- he made a healthy version of Chicken Parmesan- holy crap it was so good!!! I couldn’t believe it was healthy! He also bought me a beautiful Yoga mat!!! It’s green with a tree on it. I love that it’s not plain. I also love that he is so thoughtful! He also took me to the movies and it was the best Friday night I’ve had in a long time. ❤
So, I don’t know if you know about Skinny Taste, but if you don’t you better get on it. Such a cool blog!!! I have tried 3 recipes from her site so far and they are all great.
Last night I made Carne Guisada for dinner, and we had it with brown rice, it was so good! Jose was in love with me all over again. I am excited to cook more Latin dishes! I was pretty proud of myself. 😉
Last night I also made Skinny Overnight Oats in a Jar for breakfast this morning, as a trial to see if Jose liked it. I wanted to see if it was something we could make so he could have breakfast in the morning, because he’s been skipping breakfast since he doesn’t have time in the morning. I put a half of a banana and 1/2 cup of blueberries in it, and he LOVED it! I am so thrilled!
So, in short (I know this blog post is long), I am still going with my weight loss. I have lost 30 lbs so far, and I feel so good about what I’m doing. I need to kick up the exercise a little more, but I’m so glad to be committed to doing Yoga. I have class tonight, and I’m so excited! I bought some Yoga pants online from Old Navy, I can’t wait to go to Yoga class with LEGIT pants!! 😀
